West Bengal Assembly Election Phase 2 is set to take place on 1st April 2021. Many important seats like Nandigram - where TMC chief Mamata Banerjee and BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari are going head-to-head - are going to be in the fray this phase of Bengal Election 2021. Just days ahead of this important phase and amid Holi celebrations, as many as 56 live bombs have been recovered from West Bengal’s Narendrapur. This is the third consecutive day that live bombs have been recovered from the poll-bound West Bengal.

The Narendrapur police have been actively investigating the case. They have registered a case against a person named Tarun and a few other unknown persons who are allegedly involved in the racket of manufacturing, transportation, and illegal use of bombs.

The PTI reported this based on the information by Election Commission sources. The police raided a room beside Bheri at Kantipota, Kheadaha.

Out of the 56 bombs that were recovered 26 were found on Friday, while 22 were found on Saturday. ACP Omar Ali Mollah said that at least five bombs have been disposed off in Kulti area of Asansol.

On Friday, an explosion took place inside TMC’s Bankura office. TMC claimed that bombs were purposely hurled at their party’s office. However, Left and BJP claimed that the explosions were heard as BJP tied up bombs at their party office.

The Opposition feels that the violence which has been happening in the state had its connection with the crude bombs.

The results for the West Bengal Assembly elections will be declared on 2 May 2021.
