Mumbai woman crushed by coconut tree in Chembur. Family blames BMC.
New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a former Doordarshan anchor and yoga teacher was killed by a coconut tree that fell straight on her head while she was on a morning walk in Mumbai’s Chembur locality.
The whole incident was captured by a CCTV camera installed at a nearby shop where two people witnessed the accident on the opposite side of the road.
In the video, 58-year-old Kanchan Rajatnath went for a morning walk on Thursday morning near her residence but unfortunately the tree came dangling down on her leaving her crushed and completely unconscious.
She had to be admitted to ICU wing of Sushrut Hospital but she sadly breathed her last this morning.
Her family has blamed the BMC for not permitting the tree to be cut as it was not in a good condition. Locals had also demanding it be cut since February this year.
