'Wasted 25 Years Due To Alliance With BJP': Uddhav Accuses Estranged Ally Of Playing 'Ugly Politics'

Uddhav Thackeray also cornered BJP over the killing of Rahul Bhat, a Kashmiri Pandit, at the Tehsil office where he worked as a clerk in Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday.

New Delhi: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray trained his gun against the Bharatiya Janata Party saying that his party wasted its 25 years for being in an alliance with the saffron party, reported news agency ANI.

Calling BJP a “fake Hindutva party” the Shiv Sena chief said that the saffron party “has taken the country to hell" and further accused the estranged ally of playing "ugly politics."

“No one is speaking about inflation. We wasted our 25 years due to an alliance with BJP, they are the worst. The fake 'Hindutva' party which was earlier with us has taken the country to hell,” said the Chief Minister speaking at an event in Mumbai.

He also cornered the ruling BJP party over the killing of Rahul Bhat, a Kashmiri Pandit, at the Tehsil office where he worked as a clerk in Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday.

“Our 'Hindutva' is 'Gadadhari'. Rahul Bhat was killed by terrorists at Tehsil's office in J&K, now what will you (BJP) do? Will you read Hanuman Chalisa there?” Thackeray said.

Thackeray also targeted the saffron party on the issue of loudspeakers atop mosques and Hanuman Chalisa saying that the party "had given loudspeakers to its A, B, and C teams and asked them to visit Aurangzeb's tomb and recite Hanuman Chalisa."

"While BJP will watch the tamasha and address press conferences," he charged.

The Shiv Sena chief who went spinal surgery last Novemner and addressed a public rally for the first time after two years, sounded the bugle for upcoming civic poll including for Mumbai, and said attempts to break Mumbai from Maharashtra will never be allowed to succeed.
