All Opposition Members In JPC On Waqf Bill Suspended After Massive Ruckus
Ten opposition MPs in the Waqf Amendment Bill Committee were suspended for a day due to a huge ruckus during the meeting.

All the 10 Members of Parliament from opposition parties in the Joint Parliamentary Committee on Waqf Amendment Bill, 2024 were suspended for a day following a ruckus during the meeting on Friday.
The suspended MPs include Kalyan Banerjee, Md. Jawaid, A Raja, Asaduddin Owaisi, Nasir Hussain, Mohibullah, M. Abdullah, Arvind Sawant, Nadimul Haq, and Imran Masood.
According to BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, "The opposition MPs, especially Owaisi, believed that Jammu and Kashmir's full representation was not heard and that Mirwaiz Umar Farooq should have been called."
"To call Mirawiz, the meeting which was supposed to discuss subjects clause by clause scheduled for January 24 and 25 was postponed by the Chairman considering the suggestion by opposition MPs," he said.

"However, in front of Mirwaiz, these people created a ruckus, misbehaved, and acted against parliamentary democracy," Dubey said.
Meanwhile, the opposition members claimed they were not being given adequate time to study the proposed changes in the draft legislation.
The discussion turned stormy among the Committee members before Mirwaiz was called as opposition leaders claimed the BJP was pushing for speedy acceptance of the report on the Waqf Amendment Bill with an eye on the Delhi elections.
The proceedings were adjourned briefly and the Mirwaiz-led delegation appeared before the Committee after it reconvened. Mirwaiz joining the meeting marks the Kashmiri leader's first visit outside the valley post abrogation of the special status of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee and Congress member Naseer Hussain stormed out of the meeting and charged the committee of becoming a "farce" in front of reporters.
The MPs demanded that the meeting scheduled for January 27 to examine the proposed amendments clause-by-clause be deferred to January 30 or January 31.
Chairman Jagdambika Pal informed members that the next meeting will be held on January 24 and 25 after the 21st January late session, Banerjee said.
"Other members protested and wrote a letter...we requested to schedule the meeting after 30th or 31st (January) but the Chairman did not listen to us...so we came by postponing all our programmes," he said.
The TMC MP alleged that an "undeclared emergency" was happening inside. He further claimed that the Chairman "kept receiving calls and he acted on the basis of that" during the meeting.
"He is implementing someone else's decision...when we protested, Nishikant Dubey is famous for suspending people...Chairman suspended 10 MPs," the TMC leader said.
