Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam To Celebrate 1st Anniv In Mahabalipuram On Feb 26; Prashant Kishor To Attend
The participation is likely to come as Prashant Kishor earlier met Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) founder Vijay at his Panaiyur residence, sparking speculation about his role in TN Assembly election.

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), actor-turned-politician Vijay’s political party, is gearing up to celebrate its first anniversary on Wednesday, February 25, at a private hotel in Mahabalipuram. The event is likely to be attended by prominent political strategist and Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor, alongside TVK’s founder and president, Vijay.
In a statement released on Tuesday, TVK General Secretary N Anand highlighted the party’s journey over the past year, emphasising its foundation on principles of love, concern, and selfless service, as per a report on IANS. Reports suggest that several political leaders, including B Kaliyammal, the women’s wing leader of Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK), is likely to join the party during the anniversary celebrations in Vijay’s presence.
The participation is likely to come as Prashant Kishor met Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) founder Vijay at his Panaiyur residence, sparking speculation about his role in the party's 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly election strategy. While it is unclear if Kishor will be TVK’s chief strategist, reports suggest he may serve as an advisor as Vijay prepares for his electoral debut.
Prashant Kishor’s meeting with Vijay was reportedly arranged by Aadhav Arjuna, the newly appointed TVK General Secretary for Election Campaign Management. So far, neither Vijay nor Kishor has made an official statement regarding their discussion or any possible collaboration.
Meanwhile, Vijay officially launched TVK on February 2, 2024, positioning the party as a force against corruption and divisive politics. While he opted to stay out of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Vijay announced that TVK would contest the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, as reported by IANS.
The party’s flag and song were unveiled on August 22, 2024 at its headquarters in Panaiyur, Chennai. TVK’s inaugural conference, held on October 27, 2024, in Vikravandi, Villupuram district, drew an impressive crowd of approximately three lakh people.
However, the event resulted in significant traffic congestion in Vikravandi and Mundiyampakkam, with vehicles being rerouted on the Chegoai Ticuchi National Highway.
