Uttar Pradesh: Delhi-Dehradun Vande Bharat Express Pelted With Stones In Muzaffarnagar

Stone pelting occurred on the E1 coach of the Delhi-Dehradun Vande Bharat Express near Muzaffarnagar station in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. No injuries were reported.

Stone pelting occurred on the E1 coach of the Delhi-Dehradun Vande Bharat Express near Muzaffarnagar station in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. No one was reported injured as a result of the incident. The railways acted immediately, mobilising the Railway Protection Force (RPF) to apprehend those responsible for the vandalism. 

"On the Delhi-Dehradun route, stone pelting was reported on the E1 coach of the Vande Bharat Express near Muzaffarnagar station. No one was hurt in the incident. The Delhi division has mobilised RPF to apprehend the perpetrators," said Railways.

The incidents of stone peltings are not new to the train. Earlier this year, in January alone, the Vande Bharat Express witnessed three such incidents across the country. 

Two window panes of the Vande Bharat Express were damaged on January 2 after stones were thrown at the train near Malda in West Bengal. The incident happened around 11:30 pm, while the train was travelling from Howrah to New Jalpaiguri.

A day after this incident, stones were thrown at the Vande Bharat Express near Phansidewa in Darjeeling district, damaging two window panes. The incident happened around 10:30 pm, while the train was travelling from New Jalpaiguri to Howrah. 

The window pane of a Vande Bharat Express coach was damaged on January 21 after stones were pelted at the train near Telta in Bihar. The incident happened around 12:30 pm, while the train was travelling from New Jalpaiguri to Howrah. It is to be noted that no injuries were reported in any of these incidents. 

In terms of recent incidents, on April 25, the window panes of a coach of the Vande Bharat Express were damaged after stones were thrown on the train near Valapattanam in Kerala's Kannur district. The incident happened around 11:30 am, while the train was travelling from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasaragod. 

The most recent incident occurred on May 16, when stones were thrown at the train near Thirunavaya in Kerala's Malappuram district, damaging the Vande Bharat Express coach. The train was travelling from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasaragod.
