UP: 17-Yr-Old 'Thrashed' By Police For Selling Vegetables During Covid Curfew, Dies; Constable Suspended
The police released a statement informing that an FIR will be registered against the personnel involved and the entire matter will be probed.
Unnao: A 17-year-old boy was allegedly beaten up by the police on Friday for "violating" the ongoing Covid curfew in the state, leading to his death.
The incident took place in the Bhatpuri locality in Unnao’s Bangarmau area where the boy was selling vegetables outside his house.

The family of the 17-year-old alleged that he was caught by a constable for allegedly violating 'corona curfew' and beaten with a stick.
After that, he was allegedly taken to a police station where he was again thrashed. The beating is said to have led to his condition deteriorating. His family stated that he was rushed to the Community Health Centre, where he was declared dead.
Angered by the police action, the local residents created a jam at Lucknow road crossing and demanded action against the guilty along with a government job and compensation for the victim's family.
The police released a statement informing that an FIR will be registered against the personnel involved and the entire matter will be probed.
A constable was suspended and a home guard jawan sacked.
"Constable Vijay Chodhury has been suspended with immediate effect in the matter and services of home guard Satyaprakash have been terminated. The entire matter will be probed and an FIR will be registered against the policemen," the police said.
The Covid-induced Curfew has been imposed by Uttar Pradesh government in the state and as per the last extension will remain in effect till 7 am on May 24.
