UP: Senior doctor shot dead in Allahabad; shared links with BJP's Keshav Prasad Maurya

New Delhi: Ahead of the upcoming assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh, Dr. A.K Bansal, senior doctor and business partner of UP BJP President Keshav Prasad Maurya, was shot dead in Allahabad in his own hospital on Thursday. Dr. A.K Bansal who worked at the Jeevan Jyoti hospital in the Rambagh area here, was killed by two men who broke into the hospital and started firing at the doctor. The two accused then ran away. Keshav Prasad Maurya had mentioned his partnership with Bansal during the presentation of the affidavit of the 2014 Lok Sabha Polls. Connection between Bansal and Maurya:
  • Maurya and Bansal were business partners. in Jeevan Jyoti Hospital, Jeevan Jyoti Nursing school and Maharishi University of Information Technology in Lucknow.
  • The two also have had many joint accounts.
  • However, the relations between the two partners remained strained during the last two years.
  • Notably, Keshav Prasad Maurya's wife, Raj Kumari Devi is also a partner in Jeevan Jyoti hospital and Clinic.
  • According to sources, it was Dr. A.K Bansal who made Keshav Maurya's criminal record public when he was became the BJP President.
"Dr. Bansal was a good friend of mine, he saved lakhs of lives. I blame SP government for not providing security to him. Incidents like these have happened in the past with him and he had appealed for security which was ignored by the state government that provides shelters to goons and criminals. I am surprised the attackers haven't been caught yet. His death has pained me. I spoke to the police officials to speed up their hunt and have asked them to scan the CCTV videos but it is unfortunate that they haven't been able to do much till now, Maurya told ABP News. Murder details: The police have formed four teams to probe the murder of the Allahabad doctor. Angry over the murder, the doctors of Uttar Pradesh have announced to protest the incident with a strike on Friday. The incident took place on Thursday at 7 pm in the Jeevan Jyoti Hopsital. The incident took place around 7 pm in the Jeevan Jyoti Hopsital. The police reached the spot as soon as they were informed. A dog squad team also accompanied the police. Notably, Dr. A.K Bansal was one of the most famous doctors of Allahabad. The identity of the two accused is not yet known. But earlier as well, Dr. A.K Bansal was attacked with a bomb in relation with a land dispute. It is being suspected that this dispute is the primary reason behind Bansal's murder. Watch:
