At ‘Chintan Shivir’, Amit Shah Reviews Home Ministry's Performance To Tackle Terrorism, Radicalisation

Union Home Minister Amit Shah presided over the 2nd 'Chintan Shivir' of senior officers of the Ministry of Home Affairs in Delhi, where he reviewed issues including counter-terrorism.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday presided over the second 'Chintan Shivir' of senior officers of the Ministry of Home Affairs in Delhi. He reviewed the performance of issues such as counter-terrorism, and radicalisation among other matters of significance. While addressing the 'Chintan Shivir' event and officials present on the occasion, Shah said the Ministry of Home Affairs should prepare a roadmap and follow it to achieve the goals of Vision 2047. He added that doing so under the 25-year roadmap will certainly see success in making India first in the globe.

In a tweet, Shah said, “Reviewed the progress of all programs underway at the ministry and had a detailed discussion to evolve an action plan for implementing PM Narendra Modi's “Vision 2047.”

The Home Minister reviewed the performance of various issues pertaining to counter-terrorism, radicalisation, internal security, cyber and information security, narcotics, disaster management, and foreigners, said an official statement.

He emphasised that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India's place in the world is growing rapidly and nothing can prevent it from becoming the first in every field all over the world.

Shah said, "We must make every effort to visualise the challenges of the future and find their advance solutions.”

The Home Minister stressed that emphasis should be placed on further enhancement of the ability to use and prevent misuse of modern technology including drones and artificial intelligence.

He also said that solar energy should be made available for all the office buildings of MHA to cut down on the use and consumption of electricity.

While appreciating the ministry’s work in the past, he urged all the officials present at the event to work more diligently to achieve the goals set in Vision 2047.

Meanwhile, Shah also reviewed the status and progress on AatmaNirbhar Bharat, various Budget announcements, and important pending issues of MHA.

Notably, officials present at the meeting also shared their suggestions on various issues relating to the Ministry.

Objective Of Home Ministry's Chintan Shivir

The main objective of the 'Chintan Shivir' was to interact with the senior officers of the ministry and work on an action plan for the implementation of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's "Vision 2047".

This comes as Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the past laid out his vision to make India a developed Nation by 2047 under the Vision Document of India@2047.

Early this year, while addressing the challenges of water security as part of the India@2047 plan, the Prime Minister announced the '5P' mantra which includes Political will, Public financing, Partnerships, Public Participation, and Persuasion for sustainability.

A similar event was conducted by Shah on April 18 where he reviewed the functioning of the home ministry's dashboard, Government Land Information System (GLIS), budget utilisation, e-office, and special recruitment drive among others.
