Uddhav Vs Shinde: Supreme Court Likely To Deliver Judgment On Maharashtra Political Crisis Tomorrow

Maharashtra Opposition leader Aaditya Thackeray while speaking to reporters in Mumbai said he has full faith in the judiciary.

The Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court is expected to deliver judgement on a batch of petitions filed by rival factions Uddhav Thackeray and CM Eknath Shinde in relation to the Maharashtra political crisis on Thursday, May 11, reported news agency ANI. A five-judge Constitution bench headed by CJI Chandrachud on March 16 had reserved its judgements on a batch of petitions filed by both sides.

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat also spoke about the apex court likely to give a verdict on the Maharastra political crisis and said "everything will be clear tomorrow."

"I have got the information that the Supreme Court will pronounce its order tomorrow on the disqualification of 16 MLAs. Everything will be clear tomorrow, I am one of the 16 MLAs too, said Shirsat, according to ANI.

On being asked by reporters about the apex court likely to pass judgement on Thursday, Maharashtra Opposition leader Aaditya Thackeray said, "We have full faith in the judiciary. Abiding by the Constitution will only benefit the country.

CJI Chandrachud on Wednesday said that "We are going to be delivering two judgments tomorrow," reported ANI.

The five-judge Constitution bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justices MR Shah, Krishna Murari, Hima Kohli and PS Narasimha was dealing with the issue related to Maharashtra political crisis.

After the apex court in June, 2022 had refused to stay the Governor’s direction to Uddhav Thackeray to prove his majority in the assembly, he resigned paving the way for Eknath Shinde to come to power in Maharashtra in alliance with the BJP.
