'Trump Bent On Bullying': AAP MP Cautions PM Modi After Zelensky's Heated Argument With US President

AAP MP Sanjay Singh urged PM Modi to prioritise the issue of Indian deportations, calling Trump a "bully.

Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh cautioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday against US President Donald Trump after his heated argument with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a White House meeting.

Singh said PM Modi should strongly raise the issue of deportation of Indians with the US and not be a "stooge" to Trump who is "bent on bullying."

He also referred to a quote by former US Secretary of State and American scientist, Henry Kissinger: "To be an enemy of the US is dangerous, but to be a friend is fatal."

Posting a video of the explosive meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy, Singh said, "This conversation proved that Trump is bent on bullying, so instead of becoming Trump's stooge, Modi ji should strongly raise the issue of bringing Indians to India in shackles like criminals."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the White House on Saturday for a meeting over a controversial mineral resources deal when he received a dressing down from Trump over his approach to the war. The US President told his Ukrainian counterpart that he was "gambling with World War III" as the two leaders engaged in a shouting match in full spectacle of global media.

Issue Of Deportation

The opposition has been raising the issue of how Indians are being deported from the US, with handcuffs and legs chained. The issue has been raked up by the opposition in Parliament as well.

So far, over 300 Indians have been deported by the Trump administration on three US military flights.

On Thursday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee criticised the deportation of illegal Indian immigrants in the chain as "shameful". She also questioned why the NDA-led central government did not arrange peace to bring them back with dignity.
