TMC Uses Pegasus Software, Phone Tapping Not Our Work’: BJP's Retort To Mamata's Outburst
West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh alleged the Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders “don’t communicate except for messaging on WhatsApp, as they know that Mamata Banerjee herself taps their phones”.
Kolkata: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday hit back at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her outburst against Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government over the Pegasus snooping controversy.
West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh alleged the Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders “don’t communicate except for messaging on WhatsApp, as they know that Mamata Banerjee herself taps their phones”.
“She and her government use Pegasus software. Phone tapping is not our work, but that of Congress, from where Mamata has come,” ANI quoted Ghosh as saying.

Earlier in the day, the TMC supremo lashed out at the Centre over the Pegasus snooping controversy and asked the opposition to unite against the Union Government.
Pointing to the threat posed to democracy by the alleged Pegasus spyware, Banerjee said the “media, judiciary and the Election Commission” make democracy but “Pegasus has captured all three”.
“I have plastered my phone because they tap everything, be it video or audio,” she said as she showed her mobile camera covered with tape.
