TMC In Action! Mukul Roy Appointed Appointed As PAC Chairman In Bengal Assembly; BJP Stages Walkout

Adhikari slammed the TMC as he went on to say that TMC is misusing its power and trying to hide faults in the financial situation by making Mukul Roy the chairperson.

Kolkata: Former BJP National Vice President and senior Trinamool Congress leader Mukul Roy, has been appointed the chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee on Friday by West Bengal Legislative Assembly Speaker Biman Bandapadhyay. Roy had filled up for the post on Wednesday.

Mukul Roy was earlier elected member of the Committee in June. Following the development, TMC had declared that it will back Roy for the post of chairman of the PAC.

According to protocols the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee is appointed from the opposition.

Stating the above, Adhikari slammed the TMC as he went on to say that TMC is misusing its power and trying to hide faults in the financial situation by making Mukul Roy the chairperson.

He further accused the TMC government of not appointing PAC chairperson from the opposition claiming this to be a first time in history ever.

Having won the elections on BJP ticket, he still stands to be an elected MLA from the Krishnanagar Uttar Assembly Constituency. Despite joining back to the TMC, he hasn't resigned from the BJP.
