'Those Who Spread Rumours Not To Take Vaccine...': Here's What Anurag Thakur Said On Covishield Row
Union Minister Anurag Thakur said: "The truth is that the people of India not only received vaccines but their lives were saved."
With the outbreak of the latest controversy over Covishield after AstraZeneca admitted that in very rare cases, its COVID-19 vaccine can cause a blood clot-related side-effect, drawing criticism from AAP's leader and Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, who has been bashing the BJP-led Centre over the vaccine, Union Minister Anurag Thakur responded by saying that these people are the sane ones who used to misguide people to not take the vaccine manufactured in India during the pandemic by spreading rumours.
He further alleged that these people are the ones who even blame the EVMs for losing elections.
"The truth is that the people of India not only received vaccines but their lives were saved... Deep fake videos are being circulated it show the involvement of foreign hands in the elections," the Union Minister said.

Saurabh Bharadwaj on Wednesday stated that it was crucial that the Centre deals with the rare side effects of Covishield vaccine on a war footing, alleging that Centre has done nothing so far in the matter.
He advised the Centre to talk to the vaccine manufacturing company, doctors and scientists and come up with a mechanism to help people who are witnessing warning signs or symptoms of any side effects of the covid vaccine.
"This issue should not be politicised but the Centre has been sleeping and it has done nothing so far. This vaccine was banned in many European countries in 2021 when government in our country was administering and promoting it," he said.
Bharadwaj further stated that the people were already doubtful of the vaccine's link to the sudden rise in heart attack cases ever since several people were suddenly collapsing and passing away during workouts and even during normal activities in various parts of India.
Pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca had admitted recently that in very rare cases, its COVID-19 vaccine can cause a blood clot-related side-effect.
