'They Have An Inferiority Complex And Steal Others' Parties, Offices': Uddhav Thackeray Slams CM Shinde

Uddhav Thackeray's remarks came a day after both Sena sections clashed at the party's headquarters in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in south Mumbai.

Uddhav Thackeray, the leader of one of the Shiv Sena factions, attacked Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who leads the party's opposition camp, on Thursday, stating that people who lack the confidence to construct anything resort to stealing and capturing.

His remarks came a day after both Sena sections clashed at the party's headquarters in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in south Mumbai. The fight lasted approximately an hour before the cops interfered.

Speaking with reporters at the Maharashtra legislature complex, Thackeray said "the government is yet to give a proper response on the supplementary demands of Rs 52,000 crore, incentives for Vidarbha and farmers hit due to unseasonal rains."

"Those who don't have the courage to build anything steal and capture," Thackeray said.

"They have an inferiority complex and then they steal others' parties and offices," he added.

The BMC brawl occurred after Shinde faction MP Rahul Shewale, former municipal body standing committee chairman Yashwant Jadhav, and former corporator Sheetal Mhatre, all members of the Shinde-led Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena, visited the party headquarters on Wednesday evening.

Former Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) corporators, including Ashish Chemburkar and Sachin Padwal, protested to their presence, resulting in violent arguments, according to sources.

Municipal Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal, who also serves as BMC administrator, informed PTI on Thursday that the civic body acted on Mumbai Police's orders following the incident on Wednesday at the civic headquarters, which houses offices for all major political parties on the ground floor of the heritage building.

On Wednesday evening, competing Shiv Sena groups commanded by Uddhav Thackeray and Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde clashed at the party's civic headquarters in south Mumbai. Tension had been building on the grounds for an hour before police arrived.

The local administration has sealed offices of the Shiv Sena, Congress, Nationalist Congress Party, and Samajwadi Party at the civic headquarters, according to Sheetal Mhatre, spokesman for the Shinde-led Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena.

A political activist said that on Thursday morning when they arrived at work as usual, they saw their party's ground-floor office at the BMC headquarters shut.
