Meet Ram Vanji Sutar, 93-year-old man who built the world's tallest statue
On the achievement, Sutar told ABP news, "It was a dream to create a huge statue. I am happy that this dream of Prime Minister Modi is being fulfilled by my hands."
Statue Of Unity: Ram Vanji Sutar, is the 93-year-old creator of world's tallest statue. The 182 meter tall statue of Unity is built in honor of the country's first Home Minister and Iron Man of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. On the achievement, Sutar told ABP news, "It was a dream to create a huge statue. I am happy that this dream of Prime Minister Modi is being fulfilled by my hands." Explaining the architecture of the tallest statue, Sutar said, "It is a statue of more than 520 feet, which is the tallest statue in the world. It has a lift in both the legs, which is the way to go up."
He further said that the statue is made in India. "It is absolutely wrong to say that this statue is Made in China. Because the design is ours and we are the one who have supervised its creation. To complete the construction from time to time, we found that such a huge foundry is only in China and that's why we built some parts in that country. They were made into pieces and then accumulate here. This was done only due to the need for construction and to meet the deadlines," he told ABP News. He also told that during the project, PM Modi and his team also took regular update from them from time to time.
