New Delhi: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal today termed the Supreme Court verdict as "unfortunate" and said the judgment is against the people of Delhi and the constitution of the country. Kejriwal’s sharp reaction came after the Supreme Court delivered a split verdict on who controls services in the National Capital Territory. “If a government can't even transfer its officers, how is it supposed to function? The party that has 67 seats doesn't have the rights but the party who won 3 seats has those rights. What kind of a democracy is this,” he questioned at a press briefing. He said Delhi can’t progress if the government is forced to sleep at L-G's office and protest to get developmental work done. “Since 40 years ACB was with Delhi government. If someone complains about corruption, the CM is not powered to do anything. We will explore legal options. The solution is with the people of Delhi, “he added. Meanwhile, the BJP slammed Kejriwal saying the 'verdict is a slap on his face'. “Will matters in court be decided by the judge or the Delhi chief minister,” BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra asked. He said the party is considering moving a contempt of court application against Kejriwal for saying the verdict is “unconstitutional”. Patra said Kejriwal is attacking the constitution and instigating the people against Supreme Court so that anarchy is spread.  “Kejriwal has openly declared war on Supreme Court.” “Kejriwal claims his government has done exceptional work in the capital but contradicts by saying he’s not being able to function,” he added.
