SC sets up 5-judge Constitution bench for Ayodhya dispute, bench to fix date of hearing on Thursday
Last Friday, the apex court had said an "appropriate bench" on January 10 will fix the date of hearing in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land title dispute case.
New Delhi: A five-Judge Constitution bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi has been constituted for the hearing in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land title dispute case. The bench will fix the date of hearing on January 10.
Apart from Justice Gogoti, the others in the bench include Justice S.A. Bobde, Justice N.V. Ramana, Justice U.U. Lalit and Justice D.Y. Chandrchud according to a notice issued by the Additional Registrar (Listing) on Tuesday.
Last Friday, the apex court had said an "appropriate bench" on January 10 will fix the date of hearing the title suit.
"Further orders in the matter will be passed on January 10 by the appropriate Bench, as may be constituted," a bench comprising Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice S K Kaul had said.
