Saket Gokhale Joins TMC. Says Fight To Safeguard Democracy, Its Institutions Needs All Hands On Deck

New Delhi: RTI activist Saket Gokhale joined the Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Thursday and said the “fight to safeguard our democracy” and “its institutions needs all hands on deck”.
Lauding West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her nephew and TMC general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, Gokhale said he hopes “to contribute in the best way”.

Gokhale joined the party in the national capital in the presence of TMC leaders, including Saugata Roy, Yashwant Sinha and Derek O’Brien.
The TMC welcomed the RTI activist into the party.
“Inspired by the indomitable spirit of @MamataOfficial, today @SaketGokhale joined the Trinamool family in the presence of @SaugataRoyMP, @YashwantSinha and @derekobrienmp. We extend a very warm welcome to him!” the party posted on the micro-blogging platform.

Gokhale, who began his career as a journalist, has filed RTIs on several issues over the last few years. The RTI activist had recently filed queries on bank loans and budgetary allocation for Pegasus.
