'Sad I am Supporting A Govt...': Chirag Paswan Attacks Ally Nitish Kumar Over Bihar Ambulance Shocker

Chirag Paswan criticised Bihar's law and order under CM Nitish Kumar, citing the ambulance gang-rape and rising crime in the state. He accused the government of failing to control crime and bowing to criminals, creating a frightening situation.

Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) President Chirag Paswan on Saturday launched a scathing attack on ally Nitish Kumar over the state’s law and order situation following the ambulance gang-rape of case.

Paswan expressed deep concern over the rise in criminal activities and said that administration is failing to control the situation. "I feel sad that I am supporting a government where crime has become rampant. It is imperative to control it, or else the consequences will be very bad. This is playing with the lives of people here," he said.

He further accused the Bihar government of bowing before criminals, saying, "The way crime is happening in Bihar, the administration has totally bowed down in front of the criminals. It is correct that this incident required condemnation, but why such incidents are happening? There is a series of crimes. If it continues like this, the situation would be frightening, rather, it has become so."

While acknowledging that some criminal acts might be politically motivated to tarnish the ruling alliance’s image ahead of the elections, Paswan maintained that it is the government's duty to ensure public safety. He also accused the government of trying to cover up the situation or being unable to handle it.

"If it is said that it is happening because of the election, I can also aver it might possibly be so, it might be a conspiracy to defame the government, but even then, it is the responsibility of the administration to control it," he said.

He urged the government to take immediate action and said: "I request the Bihar government to act before it's too late."

Paswan's remarks come a day after a woman was allegedly gang-raped by two men in an ambulance in Gayaji district. She said she fainted during a government recruitment test. Police said the two accused, identified by the complainant who had appeared at a recruitment drive for home guards, have been arrested, PTI reported.

His statement also comes at a time when criminal incidents like murders, rapes, and gang rapes are on a rise in Bihar, especially in Patna.
