Russian-Ukraine War: PM Modi Chairs Fifth High-Level Meet, Evacuation Of Indians From Ukraine Discussed
The high-end meeting with ministers and concerned officials comes soon after PM Modi spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin and discussed the safe evacuation of India stranded in Ukraine.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi called a high-level meeting on Wednesday evening on the Ukraine crisis, his fifth since Sunday, news agency ANI reported.
The meeting comes amid a worsening situation in Ukraine on the backdrop of Russia's all-out military operations which entered its seventh day today. Two Indian students have lost their lives so far as Russian troops advanced deeper into Ukraine.

During the meeting, PM Modi reviewed India's evacuation programme - Operation Ganga - to bring back stranded students from the war-torn nation.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and his Cabinet colleague Piyush Goyal besides senior officials attended the meeting.
The high-end meeting with ministers and concerned officials comes soon after PM Modi spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin and discussed the safe evacuation of India stranded in Ukraine.
Earlier in the day, the Indian embassy in Ukraine asked all Indian nationals to leave Kharkiv immediately to safe zones or further westwards.
The external affairs ministry has assured that every Indian citizen will be brought back from Ukraine.
Even now, thousands of Indians, including students, are reportedly still stuck in Kharkiv and the Russian army has scaled up attacks on both Kyiv and Kharkiv.
The Prime Minister is personally monitoring the evacuation efforts of the government, taking updates from the MEA at regular intervals.
