New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday distributed 71,056 appointment letters to newly inducted recruits of Rozgar Mela via video conferencing. Addressing the event, PM Modi said that the new recruits were getting this responsibility "in a special era". "You are getting this new responsibility in a special era. The country has entered Amrit Kaal. We the citizens have taken the resolution to make India a developed nation in this duration. To attain this resolution, you're going to be the 'saarthi' of the country," the PM said.

"In front of the rest of the people of the country, all of you who are going to shoulder this new responsibility, are being appointed as a representative of the Central Government in a way," he added.

"Amid pandemic and war, there's a crisis of new opportunities before youth across the world. Experts even in developed nations suspect a major crisis. In times like this, economists and experts say India has golden opportunity to display economic capability and promote new opportunities," PM Modi said in his address.

The drive, according to the Prime Minister's Office, is a step towards achieving his commitment to giving employment generation highest priority. It is anticipated to be a catalyst in creating more jobs and giving youth meaningful opportunities for their empowerment and direct participation in national development.

75,000 individuals received appointment letters earlier in October.

At 45 sites throughout the nation, with the exception of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, where the Model Code of Conduct is in effect, appointment letters will be physically distributed
