New Delhi: As the country prepares for the Republic Day celebrations, the Delhi Police and security agencies are going above and beyond to safeguard the national capital in the face of multiple threats.
Ahead of the Republic day preparations, Rakesh Asthana, Delhi Police Commissioner said, "Intensified anti-terror measures are being taken for the last 2 months because Delhi is always a target. This year too we are alert. Over 20,000 forces deployed including DCPs, ACPs, Delhi Police commandos, CAPF commandos."

The national capital has also been designated as a no-fly zone, which means that flying drones, UAVs, and hot air balloons are illegal. Anti-drone teams have also been sent to search for unattended flying devices in the airspace.
According to ANI's earlier report, to combat the different dangers, security arrangements have been reinforced, with over 50,000 security officers deployed and a central control room built up with over 500 CCTV cameras equipped with facial recognition technology for increased protection.
"Latest technology is being used to prevent any possible drone threats. Apart from this, the face recognition database has also been aligned with CCTV cameras. Terror threats of all kinds have been identified and a multi-layered security arrangement has been put in place," Special Commissioner, Delhi Police Satish Golcha was quoted by ANI in its earlier report.
