7 Feared Dead, Several Injured In Stampede At RCB Victory Parade Near Chinnaswamy Stadium

Seven feared dead and at least 10 people suffered injuries amid overwhelming crowds that gathered outside Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium during a ceremony celebrating Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s IPL 2025 victory on Wednesday (March 4, 2025). Seven persons reportedly died, according to reports. The incident occurred as thousands of fans flocked to the venue, leading to a stampede-like situation. All the injured, including the collapsed child, were rushed to Bowring Hospital for treatment.
However, even after the stampede situation, the felicitation ceremony continued in the presence of CM Siddaramaiah, RCB captain Virat Kohli among others at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

Earlier, the champions received a hero’s welcome when they landed at HAL Airport on Tuesday. Fans thronged the airport premises to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars. The RCB team members were welcomed by Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar at the airport. The team’s first stop was Vidhana Soudha, where Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah personally congratulated the players for their long-overdue success.
Ahead of the RCB victory event, a traffic advisory said, "The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) cricket team has won the IPL trophy for the year 2025. The team, along with trophy, will be arriving in Bengaluru on 04-06-2025. On this occasion, a special felicitation ceremony has been organized by the KSCA at the Chinnaswamy Stadium at 5:00 PM Today for all RCB players. Entry to the event will be permitted only to those with valid tickets and passes. As there is limited parking facility available near the Chinnaswamy Stadium, those who are attending the event are advised to use public transport and Metro."
