Arun Govil, Reel-Life Lord Ram, Joins BJP Ahead Of Assembly Elections 2021
Arun Govil Joins BJP: Ramayana Fame Actor Joins BJP Ahead Of Assembly Polls 2021
The "Jai Shri Ram" chants will get some of the literal sense in Assembly Polls 2021, as the actor who played Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan - Arun Govil - has joined the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) on Thursday in New Delhi. Arun Govil joined the BJP in presence of senior party leader Arun Singh and MP Meenakshi Lekhi.
Arun Govil who joins BJP right ahead of state assembly polls is going to campaign heavily in West Bengal. ABP Live learns that he will be speaking in around 100 public gatherings in West Bengal promoting BJP.
At his first press conference, 63-year-old Govil said: "To contribute to the development of the nation, BJP is the best platform." He also added: "Work done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has changed his perception of politics."
Reel-life Lord Ram was quick to take a jibe at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as he mentioned that there is nothing wrong in saying "Jai Shri Ram".
"Mamata Banerjee is allergic to the chant of Jai Shri Ram, as she pegs it as a political slogan but it is not," Govil added in his presser.
Apart from 1987 Ramayan, Govil has acted in several Hindi, Bhojpuri, Odia and Telugu films.
