Rajnath Singh mum on 'exodus of Hindus'; raises pitch on Samajwadi Party

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh raised the pitch and challenged the ruling Samajwadi party in the open while speaking at the BJP’s ‘Parivartan Yatra’ in Kairana on Monday. Rajnath Singh asserted that if the BJP is voted to power in the state, it will act against those using muscle power to terrorise people. "Jo gundagardi ke aadhaar par logon ke dilon mein dehshat paida karne ka kaam karta hai, behno aur bhaiyon, Bhartiya Janata Party ki sarkar ke aane ke baad, hum dekhenge ki usne kitna ma ka doodh piya hai. The rally was held in the limelight of the alleged migration of Hindus in the state. The issue was first raised by BJP MP Hukum Singh who in the month of June had accused that Muslims of forcing local Hindus to leave and had said that Kairana was being turned into Kashmir. Since then, the issue has been raised several times by various BJP leaders including national president Amit Shah. However, surprisingly, the Union Home Minister preferred to avoid the controversial issue of ‘exodus of Hindus’ from Kairana at the rally. Instead, Mr. Singh chose to focus on Samajwadi party’s failure and the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
  • Rajnath Singh claimed that the ‘self-respect of mothers and sisters is being looted in the state. ‘‘Kya halaat ho gaye hai yahan pe? Matao beheno ki izzat aur asmat looti ja rahi hai?"
  • Singh promised to probe and withdraw all false cases filed out of revenge against innocents if BJP came to power in the state.  "Logo ke upar farji mukadme lagaye ja rahe hai? Main un nau-jawano ko kehna chahta hoon, jinke upar farji mukadme lagaye gaye hai. Hamari sarkaar banne ke baad, uski ham jaanch karenge aur unke ham farji mukadmo ko vapas karenge."
  • The Home Minister raised the internal power struggle of the Samajwadi Party and said the interest of common public was being affected by the ongoing power struggle in the ruling party. "Aapke jhagde ka khamiyaaza Uttar Pradesh ki janta ko bhugatna pade, aisa nahi hona chahiye."
  • In his speech, Rajnath Singh also targeted Pakistan. He accused Pakistan of wanting to weaken and disintegrate India. "Hamara padosi desh Pakistan. Vo bharat ko kamzor karna chahta hai. Usey todna chahta hai.’ He went on to tell the audience that he went to Pakistan and told them upfront that they promote terrorism. ‘Pakistan ki dharti par ja kar maine seena thok kar kaha tha kit um aatankvaad ko badhava dete ho."
Kairana is the second stop of the BJP Parivartan Yatra launched from Saharanpur last Saturday. The UP elections are scheduled for early 2017. Watch the entire speech here.
