D-Day For Sachin Pilot And Team At Rajasthan High Court; CM Gehlot Prepares For Floor Test
After the big win in Supreme Court, it is the D-Day at High court for Sachin Pilot and his team. Meanwhile, CM Ashok Gehlot has said that an assembly session will happen soon and they have full support to claim majority.
Rajasthan Political Crisis: The Supreme Court announced a breather for Sachin Pilot after it refused to restrain the Rajasthan High Court from passing an order on a plea of sacked Deputy Chief Minister and 18 other dissident Congress MLAs challenging the disqualification notice against them and said it would be subject to the outcome of the petition before the apex court.

Rajasthan Assembly Speaker CP Joshi failed to get any temporary relief on his plea alleging that the high court cannot interdict the disqualification proceedings undertaken by him under the 10th schedule of the Constitution.
Observing that the "voice of dissent" in a democracy cannot be shut down, the Supreme Court refused to accept the request of Rajasthan Assembly Speaker CP Joshi and now the high court will pass its order at 10.30 am today.
What Is Disqualification Notice Row About?
Rajasthan Assembly Speaker CP Joshi had earlier sent notices to Pilot and 18 MLAs under the anti-defection law after the chief whip's application for their disqualification.
Soon Pilot and the MLAs from his camp approached the High Court over disqualification notice seeking the quashing and setting aside of the show cause notice issued to them on July 14 by the Speaker. According to the notice, if these MLAs fail to respond to the notice then the Speaker can proceed ex parte and disqualify them from the Assembly.

While hearing the matter, Rajasthan High Court asked the legislative assembly speaker not to act on disqualification notices issued by him to the 19 MLAs till July 24. The high court fixed July 24 as the date for passing order.
On this, Joshi filed a petition in Supreme Court stating that the speaker has the complete authority to send a show-cause notice.
CM Ashok Gehlot Prepares For Floor Test
Amid the ongoing political crisis in Rajasthan, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday said that an assembly session will be called soon and also claimed that his Congress-led government will prove its majority. While speaking to reporters, Gehlot claimed: "The session of the assembly will take place soon. The majority is with us, all Congress MLAs are united."
Gehlot also hoped that some of the dissident MLAs, who are led by sacked Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, will also attend the session when it is called very soon.
