Rajasthan chief secy molested daughter, alleges wife

Jaipur: The wife of Rajasthan Chief Secretary Om Prakash Meena has accused him of molesting their daughter at the age of 13 and has written to the Prime Minister's Office seeking an appointment with the PM to apprise him of the matter. Geeta Singhdeo, a senior RAS officer, said her daughter has forwarded her written statement to the high court in this regard and on behalf of the daughter she would lodge a separate case against Meena after consultation with her lawyers. "My husband molested our daughter when she was 13 years old. He abused and mistreated her for nearly two years. She forwarded the email in April this year," the Additional Director, Public Services, told PTI. The officer said she has written to the Prime Minister's office seeking an appointment with the PM to apprise him of the matter and urge him to order a probe. The husband and wife have been living apart for the last two years. She had earlier filed cases of violence and cruelty against Meena while the daughter has also filed a case seeking maintenance from him. "The cases are pending in the high court. I and my daughter were quiet on the issue of sexual harassment but now we bring this fact before public because we are facing pressure from my husband," she claimed. Her daughter gave the statement in support of Singhdeo in case of violence and cruelty. "My human dignity, self-respect, mind and soul has been scarred for life because of this man," the daughter alleged in the email, saying, she gathered courage and spoke to her mother of the sexual abuse by her father and her mother confronted Meena. Accusing the police of favouring Meena, she said, "Police did not carry out independent probe because of his influence". The Chief Secretary was not available for comments.
