End Of An Era! Noted Urdu Poet Dr. Rahat Indori Passes Away At 70; Was Infected With Coronavirus
Earlier today, Indori, who is usually quite active on social media, had made the news public by taking it to his social media account and announcing that he has tested positive for the deadly Coronavirus infection.
New Delhi: In an unfortunate incident, the noted Urdu poet Rahat Indori passed away on Tuesday August 11, in a hospital at Madhya Pradesh’s Indore. According to the reports, the famous 70-year-old was hospitalized after he was found to be infected with novel COVID-19.
Earlier today, Indori, who is usually quite active on social media, had made the news public by taking it to his social media account and announcing that he has tested positive for the deadly Coronavirus infection.
“After showing initial Covid19 symptoms, I was tested for the virus on Monday and I am declared positive for the virus today and have been admitted to Aurobindo hospital,” Indori posted.
The news of Indori being infected with COVID-19 virus was further confirmed by his son Stalaj Indori.
News agency ANI confirmed the news quoting doctor Vinod Bhandari fro the Sri Aurobindo Hospital who reportedly said that Indori suffered two heart attacks today and could not be saved.
Doctors revealed that the renowned poet and lyricist was admitted to hospital on Sunday, after testing positive for COVID19. He had 60 per cent pneumonia.
Soon after his demise, the Twitter handle of Dr Rahat Indori posted: Rahat Saheb passed away at about 5 PM today after suffering cardiac arrest....Pray for his journey.
Earlier in the day, Rahat Indori shared the news of his Covid-19 test results. "My corona test was done yesterday after the onset of symptoms of Covid-19, the report of which has come positive. Pray that I should beat this disease as soon as possible. There is another request, do not call me or people at home. You will continue to get news regarding my health on Twitter and Facebook," Rahat Indori tweeted. A former professor of Urdu language, Indori also earned fame for writting several melodies for many Bollywood films. Some of the popular songs include 'Yeh Rishta' from the film Meenaxi: A Tale Of Three Cities(2004), 'Neend Churayee Meri Kisne O Sanam Tune' from the film Ishq (1997), Bumbro from Mission Kashmir(2000). Also a painter, the multi-talented Indori before becoming famous as Urdu poet, pursued his career as a pedagogist of Urdu literature at Devi Ahilya University, Indore.राहत साहब का Cardiac Arrest की वजह से आज शाम 05:00 बजे इंतेक़ाल हो गया है.....
