Punjab Assembly Elections 2022: Showcasing Delhi as a model state, Arvind Kejriwal made six poll promises, with health as one of their priority, to be delivered if AAP is voted to power.

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is on a visit to Punjab, made several big announcements related to the healthcare system today during a press conference in Ludhiana.

Assembly elections in Punjab are to be held next year, political parties are doing permutations, and combinations to project themselves as the better alternative.

While drama is pretty much alive in the current regime of Congress in Punjab, with Captain Amarinder Singh resigning from the post of Chief Minister, Dalit Sikh Charanjit Singh Channi made as new CM and Navjot Singh Sidhu resigning from Congress State Chief post after recently being elevated, AAP is making inroads with the voters.

Showcasing Delhi as a model state, Arvind Kejriwal made six poll promises, with health as one of their priority, to be delivered if AAP is voted to power.

Arvind Kejriwal's Six Promises To People Of Punjab:

  • Free and quality healthcare for all.
  • All medicines, tests, operations will be free.
  • Health cards will be given to everyone.
  • 16,000 Pind/Mohalla clinics will be opened.
  • New world-class government hospitals will be built, the old ones will be renovated.
  • All road accident victims will be treated free of cost.

AAP's Chief Minister Candidate

AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal in Ludhiana, when asked about the party's CM face for Punjab elections, did not give a clear answer and said the party will project a "good CM face".

"I have said again & again that when the time comes we will give you a good CM face, it could be anyone. We are not thinking about it right now," he said.

Meanwhile, Arvind Kejriwal also praised Bhagwant Mann who was sharing the stage with him.

Navjot Singh Sidhu In AAP

After Navjot Singh Sidhu resigned from his Congress PCC post, speculations have been that he cal also join hands with Aam Aadmi Party. Arvind Kejriwal shrugged any such speculations of Sidhu joining AAP.

"It is a hypothetical question, if anything like that happens we will tell you first of all," Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said.

"Punjab had formed Congress govt with great hopes. But today they've made a mockery of govt. A dirty fight for power is going on. All their leaders want to become CM. There's so much infighting that Govt has disappeared, he added.
