Punjab Police Arrests Pakistani 'Spy' With ISI Links In Tarn Taran

Punjab Police arrests Pakistani spy from Tarn Taran linked to ISI and Khalistani leader Gopal Singh Chawla; leaked Indian Army intel for money. Shocking details recovered from his phone.

In a major security breakthrough, the Punjab Police has arrested an alleged Pakistani 'spy' identified as Gagandeep Singh.

According to officials, Singh was in direct contact with Pakistan-based pro-Khalistan leader Gopal Singh Chawla and operatives from Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI. He was reportedly supplying them with sensitive information, including Indian Army deployments and other classified military details.

During 'Operation Sindoor,' Singh allegedly leaked critical data about troop movements to Pakistani intelligence operatives.

Pakistan 'Spy' Had Contacts Of 20 ISI Operatives

Authorities recovered a mobile phone from the suspect, containing shared intelligence and contact details of 20 ISI-linked spies. Investigations also reveal that he received payments from ISI in exchange for this classified information.

Singh had reportedly been in touch with Gopal Singh Chawla for the past five years.

According to Punjab's Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, Singh had established a secret communication line with Chawla nearly five years ago, reported news website India Today. Through this connection, he was introduced to Pakistani intelligence operatives (PIOs) and allegedly began receiving payments.

Through Chawla, he gained access to ISI handlers and shared sensitive military data, including troop movements and deployment locations, Yadav was quoted as saying by India Today.

Authorities confirmed that Singh passed on crucial intelligence during Operation Sindoor, India's high-stakes retaliatory operation launched after the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives. The phone seized from Singh reportedly contained extensive communication records with more than 20 suspected ISI agents. A comprehensive financial and technical investigation is now underway to uncover the full extent of the spy network.

Police officials further allege that Chawla, operating from Pakistan, has been orchestrating a wide-reaching espionage network inside India in coordination with the ISI. His influence is believed to be central to the leak of critical operational details during India's recent military response.

Influencer, Govt Officials Among Those Arrested For 'Spying'

Singh's arrest is part of a broader crackdown following the deadly attack in Pahalgam, with law enforcement intensifying efforts to dismantle espionage rings believed to be operating across North India. In the past two weeks alone, over a dozen individuals have been taken into custody across Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.

Among those arrested are Jyoti Malhotra, a popular social media influencer from Haryana with lakhs of followers across YouTube and Instagram, and Guzala, a 31-year-old woman from Punjab. In a disturbing twist, even a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officer and a government employee from Rajasthan were also detained on espionage charges.
