Pulwama Encounter: Two Al-Badr Terrorists Involved In Attacks On Migrant Labourers Neutralised

The neutralised terrorists have been identified as Aijaz Hafiz and Shahid Ayub and belong to Al Badr terror outfit, said the Police

New Delhi: A day after the encounter broke in the Pulwama region, another terrorist has been neutralised said the Jammu & Kashmir Police on Thursday.

Earlier one terrorist was killed as the encounter broke out between militants and security forces in the Mitrigam area of Pulwama on Wednesday, reported news agency ANI.

Security forces had launched a cordon and search operation based on the information about the presence of militants there, according to the Police.

The search operation turned into an encounter after the hiding militants fired upon the forces who retaliated. After the initial firing, the operation was halted to evacuate civilians, the official said.

Both terrorists killed in the encounter had been involved in a series of attacks on outside labourers in the district in the month of March-April 2022, said IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar.

The neutralised terrorists have been identified as Aijaz Hafiz and Shahid Ayub and belong to the Al-Badr terror outfit. Both of them are locals. Police also recovered two AK 47 rifles.

This is the second incident in less than a week after a teenager, who was among the three terrorists were killed in the Pulwama encounter on Sunday.
