Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Full 4-Day Schedule Of COP26 And G20 Summit

PM Narendra Modi left for Rome today to attend the G20 summit. His visit is scheduled from October 29 to November 2, 2021. He is also scheduled to fly to Glasgow to attend COP26 during the visit.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for Rome today at the invitation of Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi. The PM will be attending the G20 summit in Rome. Later he will visit Glasgow where he is scheduled to attend the 26th Conference of Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC). 

The PM's visit is scheduled from October 29 till November 2. His schedule for the next four days is as follows. 

October 29

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Rome today. For the next three days, the PM will be in Rome. After landing in Rome, PM Modi paid his tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. 

October 30

The Prime Minister will attend the G20 summit on October 30. Post Covid-19 pandemic this is the first G-20 summit that will take place in person. In a statement, the PMO said, "This will be the first in-person Summit of the G20 since the outbreak of the pandemic in 2020 and will allow us to take stock of the current global situation and exchange ideas on how the G20 can be an engine for strengthening economic resilience and building back inclusively and sustainably from the pandemic," reported ANI. 

The summit will address issues of global economic and health recovery from the pandemic, sustainable development, and climate change.

According to reports on the lines of the G20 summit, the PM will meet French Prime Minister Emmanuel Macron, Indonesian President Joko Widodo. The PM is also expected to meet Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Hosein Loong. 

On the same day, PM Modi is scheduled to meet Pope Francis in Vatican City. 

October 31

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will fly to Glasgow at the invitation of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson to attend the COP 26 conference. 

November 1, 2

The Prime Minister will be attending the 26th Conference of Parties. The conference titled, ‘World Leaders’ Summit’ will see leaders from 120 countries of the world.
