Posters in Moradabad inviting Vadra to contest LS polls

A month after his wife Priyanka Gandhi Vadra took the political plunge, Robert Vadra on Sunday indicated his wish of joining the political bandwagon saying his "experience and learning" of years should be put to "better use".

New Delhi: A day after Robert Vadra, Congress President Rahul Gandhi's brother-in-law hinted at venturing into politics, posters were put up in Uttar Pradeshs Moradabad constituency on Monday inviting him to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. "Robert Vadra ji, we welcome you to contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Moradabad constituency," read the posters put up by the Moradabad Yuvak Congress. One of the 80 constituencies in Uttar Pradesh, Moradabad elected former India cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin of the Congress in 2009. In 2014, the Bharatiya Janata Party's Kunwar Sarvesh Kumar Singh won the seat. A month after his wife Priyanka Gandhi Vadra took the political plunge, Robert Vadra on Sunday indicated his wish of joining the political bandwagon saying his "experience and learning" of years should be put to "better use". Amid repeated interrogations by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case, the businessman expressed his feeling of serving the people in a larger role once the allegations were cleared. Neither Robert Vadra or the Congress have reacted to the posters.
