Pocket Pinch: Prices of both subsidised and non-subsidised LPG cylinders hiked

Lately, people have been reeling under high petrol prices in Delhi and at such a time this increment in LPG cylinder prices can hit their savings hard.

New Delhi: As people were grappling with record high petrol / diesel prices, they received yet another blow as the prices of domestic LPG cylinder were increased on Thursday. The prices soared high for both subsidised and non-subsidised LPG cylinders. The price of subsidised gas cylinder has been increased by Rs.2.34 making its cost Rs. 493.55 per cylinder. The price of non-subsidised cylinder has been increased by Rs. 48 making the cost Rs. 698.50. The price of gas cylinders used in hotels and restaurants has increased by Rs. 77 making it cost Rs. 1244.50. Lately people have been reeling under high petrol prices in Delhi and at such a time this increment in LPG prices can hit their savings hard. In the 16 consecutive increases since May 14, petrol price was hiked by Rs 3.8 per litre and diesel by Rs 3.38. Petrol price was cut by 7 paise a litre and diesel by 5 paise on Thursday in the second reduction. Petrol in Delhi now costs Rs 78.35 a litre, down from Rs 78.42, according to a price notification issued by state-owned oil firms. Diesel rates have been cut to Rs 69.25 per litre from Rs 69.30.
