According to an IANS report, the Yogi Adityanath-led government has said the Expressway will open the way for industrial activities, boost the development of Purvanchal and provide employment to a large number of people.

One of the longest expressways in India, it starts from Chand Sarai village in Lucknow and will end at Haydaria village on NH-31 in Ghazipur district. The expressway which has been built at a cost of Rs 42,000 crore will pass through nine districts of the state- Lucknow, Barabanki, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Mau and Ghazipur.

While Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had launched the construction of the six-lane expressway, there is a possibility to expand it into an eight-lane structure in the future. The Purvanchal Expressway is also going to connect the Eastern districts of Uttar Pradesh with the national capital New Delhi via the Yamuna Expressway and it will also improve connectivity between the capital and Ghazipur.

Through the still under construction Buxar–Ghazipur Elevated Road, the Expressway will also connect the state with Arrah and Patna in Bihar. The state government also views road connectivity as beneficial to even agriculture, tourism, and other industrial development

Apart from the benefits for vehicular mobility, the Expressway will also benefit the Indian Air Force by being an emergency runway for IAF aircrafts. While commuters don’t have to pay any toll tax initially, the government is expecting to earn around Rs. 202 crore annually as a toll through this expressway.
