Telangana Man Faces Legal Action Over 'Objectionable' Morphed Image Of PM Modi With Handcuffs

According to BJP representatives, the controversial image — believed to be AI-generated — portrayed PM Modi standing near Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi with a caption insinuating his incarceration

Telangana authorities have initiated legal proceedings against a man accused of circulating a digitally altered image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on social media, which reportedly depicted him in handcuffs outside a Pakistani prison.

Controversial Image Of PM Modi

The individual, identified as MD Mujahid from Karimnagar district, is currently under police scrutiny after members of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) filed a formal complaint at the Ramadugu police station, report on PTI. The case has been registered under sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) related to inciting public disorder.

According to BJP representatives, the controversial image — believed to be AI-generated — portrayed Prime Minister Modi standing near Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi with a caption insinuating his incarceration, as per a report on Siasat. The complainants also allege that Mujahid has previously shared content deemed anti-national.

The BJP claims the post, uploaded three days ago, was authored by a government employee working as a driver with the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (RTC) in Jagtial district. Party leaders have called for stringent legal action, invoking laws typically used in cases of sedition and terrorism.

In response to the incident, BJP activists organised a protest outside the local police station, demanding the immediate arrest of the accused. Police have yet to issue a public statement regarding the investigation’s progress.
