PM Modi Walks With Children On His Arrival In Bhutan's Thimphu — WATCH

PM Modi shared a delightful moment with a group of children.

As Prime Minister Modi arrived in Bhutan's Thimphu, he was greeted by a heartwarming sight – a group of children eagerly awaiting his presence. With smiles as radiant as the Himalayan sun, the children surrounded him, their eyes sparkling with excitement. At that moment, amidst the majestic backdrop of the Bhutanese landscape, Prime Minister Modi shared an endearing connection with the young ones, embracing the warmth of their enthusiasm. 

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a significant two-day visit to Bhutan from March 22-23, 2024. This visit underscores the ongoing tradition of robust exchanges at the highest levels between the two nations, aligning with India's steadfast commitment to its Neighbourhood First Policy, according to an official statement by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

Upon his arrival at Paro Airport, PM Modi was warmly received by the Prime Minister of Bhutan, H.E. Tshering Tobgay, marking the initiation of his visit with a ceremonial welcome.

Scheduled engagements during the visit include an audience with the esteemed King of Bhutan, His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk, and the revered fourth King of Bhutan, His Majesty Jigme Singye Wangchuck. Additionally, PM Modi is set to engage in discussions with Bhutan's Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay, further enhancing bilateral ties.

An integral highlight of the visit will be the inauguration ceremony of the Gyaltsuen Jetsun Pema Mother and Child Hospital in Thimphu, Bhutan. This state-of-the-art facility, constructed with the support of the Government of India, signifies a significant milestone in the collaborative efforts aimed at advancing healthcare infrastructure in Bhutan.

Earlier before departing to Bhutan, PM Modi took to his X account where he stated that “On the way to Bhutan, where I will be attending various programmes aimed at further cementing the India-Bhutan partnership."
