PM Modi To Kickstart Distribution Of PMJAY-MA Yojana Ayushman Cards In Gujarat Tomorrow

PMJAY-MA Scheme: More than 50 lakh PMJAY-MA scheme participants in Gujarat will receive the Ayushman PVC cards, which are made of lightweight polyvinyl chloride material.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Monday attend an event to distribute Ayushman cards to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana–Ma Amrutam (PMJAY-MA) scheme in Gujarat, an official said on Sunday, news agency PTI reported.

PM Modi will join the programme organised in Gujarat capital Gandhinagar at 4 pm in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel via video conference, and will also interact with three beneficiaries, an official release said.

Rushikesh Patel, the minister of health and family welfare for Gujarat, will be present at the state-level event. Mansukh Mandaviya, the union minister of health, will attend the event virtually.

More than 50 lakh participants of the PMJAY-MA scheme in Gujarat will receive the Ayushman PVC cards, which are composed of lightweight polyvinyl chloride material.

"From September 2021 till date, more than 50 lakh cards have been issued under the chief minister's leadership. Newly printed Ayushman PVC cards will be given to these beneficiaries," the release said.

The Mukhyamantri Amrutam (MA) and Mukhyamantri Amrutam Vatsalya (MAV) healthcare programmes of Gujarat were linked with the PMJAY programme of the Center, which provides healthcare services to the economically disadvantaged sectors, in 2019.

According to the state government of Gujarat, 1.58 crore beneficiaries have received PMJAY-MA cards since the two programmes were combined.

All recipients of state-sponsored programmes were therefore qualified to receive PMJAY-MA cards, according to the press release.

Beneficiaries are receiving their Ayushman PVC cards in accordance with National Health Authority (NHA) regulations.

Gujarat has printed at least 50 lakh PVC cards, which have been given to the corresponding chief district health officials and medical officers. It was announced that the Ayushman PVC cards would be distributed at the village level.

According to the government website, each family will receive health coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh under the Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY, the largest health insurance programme in the world.

The Gujarat government merged the Mukhyamantri Amrutam and Mukhyamantri Amrutam Vatsalya programmes with the Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY after its launch in 2019, and beneficiaries of all three schemes received co-branded cards under the PMJAY-MA.
