‘Rejected In Elections, Now Spreading Lies,’ Modi's Jibe At Opposition At JP Nadda’s Felicitation
PM Modi described Nadda as an old colleague, remembered how they used to ride scooter together for party work.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, took a swipe at the opposition parties, during his address at the felicitation ceremony of the newly elected BJP chief Jagat Prakash Nadda. Targeting the parties that faced defeat in the elections, PM Modi said: “Parties rejected in elections have been left with few weapons, and now they are spreading lies.”
Hailing Jagat Prakash Nadda’s elevation at the President of the party and acknowledging the contribution of his predecessor Amit Shah, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a stirring speech at the BJP headquarters and asserted that the party’s able leaders will continue working selflessly for the upliftment of the party.

“I am confident that under his (JP Nadda’s) leadership, party will go ahead by abiding its basic principles and ideologies. We will have to face more challenges than what we faced as a political party in the opposition,” Modi said.
He also hailed Amit Shah as an outstanding leader and in an earlier tweet, said that words cannot do justice to his rich contribution as BJP president
“From the beginning itself, party has had the tendency to expand horizontally with the vertical development of the workers - the workers of the party develop and the party expands,” he asserted.
