Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Rebuts PM Modi's Remark, Says 'Congress Govt Ended Darkness In 11 Months'

Revanth Reddy expressed his intention to clarify what he described as "misconceptions and factual errors" in Modi's statements regarding Telangana.

In a robust response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent comments, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy asserted that the Congress government has successfully lifted the state from "darkness" within just 11 months of its administration. Previously, PM Modi had claimed that the developmental trajectory and fiscal health in Telangana, along with Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka, were deteriorating under Congress rule.

Reddy expressed his intention to clarify what he described as "misconceptions and factual errors" in Modi's statements regarding Telangana. In a post directed at the Prime Minister, he emphasised, "Every promise made by us to people is a sacred commitment for us. In the last 11 months, we have reversed an air of gloom and despair under BRS and ended the darkness. Like a morning sun, Telangana is now rising."

Highlighting the achievements of his government, Reddy noted that within just two days of taking office, Telangana government fulfilled its initial promises, including free bus travel for women across all government buses and a healthcare cover of Rs 10 lakhs under the Rajiv Aarogyasree scheme.

Furthermore, he pointed out that the Congress administration implemented India's largest-ever state-level farmer loan waiver of Rs 18,000 crore, benefiting over 22 lakh farmers, countering Modi's claim that farmers in Telangana were still awaiting their promised loan waivers. Reddy also mentioned initiatives such as providing free electricity to women for homes consuming up to 200 units, alongside a significant recruitment drive that has created over 50,000 jobs for eligible youth—a feat he claimed is unmatched by any BJP-led state government.

Additionally, Reddy stated that his government is committed to rejuvenating the Musi River, which he accused the previous government of neglecting, and is actively working to protect lakes and other vital water bodies that have suffered from encroachment and destruction over the past decade.
