Sky Is Not The Limit For India, US Partnership: PM Modi At Joint Press Briefing With Biden

PM Modi also said India was 'completely ready' to help Ukraine 'peace' efforts at a joint media briefing after holding bilateral talks with Biden.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said the even the sky isn't the limit for India and US partnership while President Joe Biden underscored that ties with India was among the most consequential in the world.

Addressing a joint media briefing after holding bilateral talks with Biden, Modi said, "Even sky isn't the limit for India and US partnership. Indian-Americans are the real strength between India and the US and their relations."

PM Modi also said the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and US has entered a new level after talks with President Biden. "India-US relationship is not only important for both the nations but also for the world," PM Modi said.

PM Modi also said that India was "completely ready" to help Ukraine "peace" efforts. "From the very beginning of the events in Ukraine, India has laid emphasis on the resolution of the dispute through dialogue and diplomacy…India is completely ready to help Ukraine's peace efforts," Modi said.

PM Modi also announced India's decision to join the Artemis Accords, which brings like-minded countries together on civil space exploration. "We have taken a long leap in our space cooperation," PM Modi said.

NASA and ISRO have agreed to a joint mission to the International Space Station in 2024, the White House said Thursday.

Our Economic Relationship Is Booming, Says Biden

In his address, Biden said the economic relationship between India and the US was booming. He also said that he was struck by the ability of the two nations to find new areas of cooperation.

"Together we are unlocking a shared future of unlimited potential. The partnership is among the most consequential in the world that is stronger, closer and more dynamic in any time in history," the US President said.

Biden said trade between India and US had doubled over the past decade to more than $191 billion, providing tens of thousands of jobs in both the countries.

"One million American jobs across 44 states will be supported by the purchase of more than 200 American-made Boeing aircraft that Air India announced earlier this year and with this visit, Indian firms are announcing more than $2 billion in new investments in manufacturing solar in Colorado, steel in Ohio, and optic fiber in South Carolina," Biden said.
