'Not Just Iron Structures But Display Of India's...': PM Modi On Chenab, Anji Bridge Inauguration

In a Jammu and Kashmir rally, Prime Minister Modi hailed the Chenab and Anji bridges as symbols of India's strength, transcending their physical structure.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that the Chenab and Anji bridges are not just structures of iron but display of India's might. Modi made the remark while addressing a public rally in Jammu and Kashmir's Katra.

"Today's programme is a huge celebration of India's unity and willpower. With the blessings of Mata Vaishnodevi, today the valley of Kashmir has been connected to India's rail network. While describing Mata Bharti, we have been saying with reverence, Kashmir to Kanyakumari. This has now become a reality for the railway network as well," he said.

"Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail line project is not just a name, it is the identity of the new power of Jammu & Kashmir. It is a proclamation of the new power of India. A while ago, I got the opportunity to inaugurate the Chenab and Anji Bridges. Today, J&K got two new Vande Bharat trains.... Projects worth Rs 46 thousand crores will speed up the development of Jammu and Kashmir...," he added.

Addressing the rally, Modi said that the dreams of many people have been fulfilled with the inauguration of the bridges.

"All the good work is indeed left for me only to complete. It is the good fortune of our government that this project gained momentum during our tenure, and we completed it... This was a challenging project to complete, but our government always chooses the path of challenging the challenge itself. The all-weather projects being built in J&K are an example of this," he said.

"... While walking on the Chenab and Anji bridges today, I lived the lofty aspirations of India and the skill and courage of our engineers and workers," Modi said.

"The Chenab Bridge is even higher than the Eiffel Tower... The Chenab and Anji bridges are a living symbol of India's power on the inaccessible hills of Pir Panjal. This is the roar of India's bright future... Kashmir's apples will be able to reach the big markets of the country at a low cost and on time...," he added.
