PM Modi To Visit Poll-Bound Himachal Pradesh Today, To Inaugurate AIIMS Bilaspur — Check Details

The PM will lay the foundation stone for a 31-km-long project for four laning of NH-105 worth over Rs 1,690 crore besides laying the stone for Medical Device Park to be built at a cost of Rs 350 crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit poll-bound Himachal Pradesh today, on the occasion of Dussehra, to inaugurate AIIMS Bilaspur and lay the foundation stone of projects worth over Rs 3,650 crore. The Prime Minister on the occasion of Vijayadashami will also participate in the famous Kullu Dussehra celebrations, according to the Prime Minister’s Office.

Prime Minister Modi will launch the health institute at around 11:30 am and later reach Luhnu Ground of Bilaspur at around 12:45 pm to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects. He will also address a public function.

Prime Minister is expected to reach the Dhalpur Ground of Kullu at around 3:15 pm, where he will participate in Kullu Dussehra celebrations.

AIIMS Bilaspur

Constructed at a cost of more than Rs 1,470 crore, AIIMS Bilaspur will be a state-of-the-art hospital with 18 speciality and 17 super-speciality departments, 18 modular operation theatres and 750 beds, including 64 ICU beds.

The institute will be spread over 247 acres and equipped with 24-hour emergency and dialysis facilities, and modern diagnostic machines such as ultrasonography, CT scan and MRI among others. It will also have a Jan Aushadhi Kendra and a 30-bed AYUSH block.

The hospital will also have a Centre for Digital Health to provide health services in tribal and inaccessible areas of the state.

Specialist health services will be provided by the hospital through health camps in the inaccessible tribal and high Himalayan regions such as Kaza, Saluni, and Keylong. Around 100 students will get admission for MBBS and 60 students for nursing courses every year.

The foundation of the newly-built hospital was laid by PM Modi in October 2017 and it has been established under the Centre's Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana, the statement said.

Development Projects In Himachal

The prime minister will also lay the foundation stone for a 31-km-long project for four laning of NH-105 from Pinjore to Nalagarh, worth over Rs 1,690 crore.

Among other development projects launched by PM Modi in Himachal today will include laying the foundation stone for Medical Device Park at Nalagarh, which will be built at a cost of around Rs 350 crore.

He will also inaugurate the Government Hydro Engineering College at Bandla to be built at about Rs 140 crore. The college will help make available trained manpower for hydropower projects, in which Himachal Pradesh is one of the leading states. 

Prime Minister Modi will also witness the Rath Yatra at the International Kullu Dussehra, chief minister Jai Ram Thakur said on Monday.

Thakur, who took stock of the preparations on Monday at Rath Maidan in Dhalpur said Modi's consent to be a witness to the Rath Yatra shows his affection and connection with Himachal and its people.
