PM Modi To Flag Off Two Vande Bharat Trains, Attend Gita Press Centenary Celebrations In UP's Gorakhpur Today

PM Modi will attend the centenary celebrations of Gita Press in Gorakhpur and flag off two Vande Bharat trains today. He will also lay they foundation stone and announce funds for various projects.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will begin his two-day visit to Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, on Friday where he will address a public meeting and announce funds for several projects. He will also attend the centenary celebrations of the Gita Press and flag off two Vande Bharat trains.

PM Modi will reach the Varanasi airport on Friday evening from Gorakhpur, he will then fly to Wajidpur in a helicopter. He will address a public rally, which is likely to be attended by over 50,000 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers, reported PTI. The Prime Minister will also announce Rs 12,148 crore for several projects in the district. According to the report, the Prime Minister will then attend a tiffin pe charcha meeting with BJP leaders.

He will also lay the foundation stone of schemes worth Rs 1,800 crore and inaugurate projects worth about 10,000 crore. These projects include the renovation of Manikarnika Ghat, which is one of the oldest cremation grounds in Varanasi. Divisional Commissioner of Varanasi Kaushal Raj Sharma said an international cricket stadium, three railway overbridges, and a 10-storey hostel for Banaras Hindu University will also be built with these funds. Along with these, the repair and construction of 96 roads will also be undertaken.

On Friday, PM Modi will flag off two Vande Bharat Trains — the Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express and the Jodhpur-Sabarmati Vande Bharat Express. This will take the total number of Vande Bharat trains operational in the country to 25.  

CM Yogi Orders Zero Power Interruption 

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also involved in ensuring that all preparations are completed in time. On Tuesday, the CM inspected the venues and instructed the officials to run a 'Plastic-Free Kashi' campaign for the next two days in the Prime Minister's Lok Sabha constituency. CM Yogi, during a review meeting at the Circuit House in Varanasi, emphasised proper preparations in view of possible rains and instructed officials to ensure that stray animals are not seen roaming on roads.

CM Yogi has also asked the electricity department officials to ensure there is no power interruption in Varanasi during Shravan, a holy month for Hindus when they worship Lord Shiva. In view of the Prime Minister's visit, BJP district president Hansraj Vishwakarma said the entire city has been spruced up.
