When And Where To Watch PM Narendra Modi's Address At AMU Centenary Celebrations
For the first time in last 56 years, the Aligarh Muslim University, in Uttar Pradesh will have an address by a Prime Minister as PM Modi will be the chief guest at the virtual centenary celebrations of the university.
Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), one of the central universities, is celebrating its centenary year. In recent past the university has been in news for all the reasons, with CAA-NRC protests being the centre of it. This time around AMU is again in the news as they have invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi as chief guest for the virtual centenary celebrations.
Mr. Modi will be the first Prime Minister in last 56 years to address the central varsity. The event will also be attended by Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank who will be joining the event via videoconferencing.
Though the university in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh was originally founded by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan in 1875 as Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College, it was in 1920 it became Aligarh Muslim University following the Aligarh Muslim University Act.
