Prime Minister Narendra Modi replied to the Motion of Thanks to the President's address in Lok Sabha today amid the ongoing uproar by Opposition over the farmers' protest and agri laws passed by Centre last year. Background

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reply on the Motion of Thanks to the President's address in Lok Sabha today amid the ongoing uproar by Opposition over the farmers' protest and agri laws passed by Centre last year. The Prime Minister, on Tuesday, gave farewell to veteran Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad and on Monday he replied in the Upper House backing the farms laws. 

As per reports, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi is said to be the next speaker in the Lok Sabha as he will lead the Opposition's charge against the Centre over the farm laws. 

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had on Tuesday issued a three-line whip to its Lok Sabha members to be present in the House today and support the government's stand.

In the ongoing Budget session of Parliament over the last four days, the Opposition has been on its foots to attack the government on various issues including farm laws, economic crisis, abrogation of Article 370, its handling of Coronavirus pandemic, unemployment and many more.
