Opposition Meeting Tomorrow To Chalk Out Strategy For Second Phase Of Budget Session

Leaders of like-minded opposition parties will meet in the chamber of the Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, tomorrow morning, according to ANI.

New Delhi: Opposition parties will meet in the Parliament complex tomorrow morning to chalk out a joint strategy to take on the government ahead of the second half of the Budget session, which will resume from tomorrow.
 
According to ANI, leaders of like-minded opposition parties will meet in the chamber of the Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, tomorrow morning and will discuss issues that are to be brought up during the second half of the Budget session.
The Budget Session will be resuming after a month-long recess during which the Department Related Parliamentary Standing Committees examined the Demands for Grants of various Ministries and Departments.
 
The second part of the Session will focus on the demand for grants and passage of the Union Budget, government is also likely to bring in legislation for passage in this part.
 
According to official records, about 26 Bills are currently pending in the Rajya Sabha and nearly 9 in the Lok Sabha for passage.
 
During the second part of the Budget session, the finance minister will table the Finance Bill and seek lawmakers' approval to implement Budget proposals from the next fiscal year.
 
On January 31, President Droupadi Murmu addressed the joint session of both Houses of Parliament to kick off the budget session. A total of 10 sittings were held during the period. During the first phase, discussions were held on the Motion of Thanks to the President's Address and the Union Budget 2023-24. The first phase of the Parliament concluded on February 13. 
 
The second leg of the Session will have a total of 17 sittings and will continue till April 6.
