Pakistan Planned Infiltration Amid Op Sindoor, Foiled With Surprise Strike: BSF

Operation Sindoor: In memory of the BSF officers lost during shelling by Pakistan, BSF announced plans to rename two of its forward posts after the fallen soldiers.

Operation Sindoor: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Tuesday revealed details of the significant counter-operation, Operation Sindoor, against terrorists which thwarted a planned infiltration from Pakistan after intelligence indicated large terrorist presence at a launchpad. BSF DIG Sunderbani Sector, Varinder Dutta told ANI, "On 8th May, we had reports that 18 to 20 terrorists were present at Looni terror launch pad of Pakistan across the border and they could infiltrate here. But we surprised them by launching an attack, causing heavy casualties."

Reports Suggest Terrorists Returning To Launchpad: BSF

BSF IG Jammu Shashank Anand said, "We are getting many inputs regarding terrorists returning to their launchpads & camps and possible infiltration along LoC & IB. Security Forces will have to remain alert. In a drone attack & shelling by Pakistan on BSF posts, we lost BSF's Sub-inspector Mohammad Imtiyaz, Constable Deepak Kumar, and Indian Army Naik Sunil Kumar."

In their memory, BSF announced plans to rename two of its forward posts after the fallen soldiers. One post will be named ‘Sindoor’, symbolizing the valor and sacrifice associated with the operation.

Operation Sindoor: Role Of Women

In a landmark moment for gender representation in combat operations, BSF revealed that the women personnel played a pivotal role during Operation Sindoor. On Operation Sindoor, BSF IG Jammu Shashank Anand said," BSF's women personnel fought on forward duty posts during Operation Sindoor. Our brave women personnel, Assistant Commandant Neha Bhandari commanded a forward post, Constable Manjit Kaur, Constable Malkit Kaur, Constable Jyoti, Constable Sampa and Constable Swapna and others fought on forward posts against Pakistan during this operation."
