Now, Bajrang Dal releases list of 'Hindu exodus' from Deoband, blames SP government
DEOBAND: After the Bharatiya Janata Party's claim of mass exodus of Hindu families in Uttar Pradesh's Kairana and Kandhala towns, now another saffron group, Bajrang Dal, on Thursday said that around 40 Hindu families have migrated from Uttar Pradesh's Deoband town due to deteriorated law and order situation.
While addressing a press conference Vikas Tyagi, Bajrang Dal leader, on Thursday said that people who left the town were living in constant fear and the Akhilesh government was unable to provide them assistance.
"40 families that have migrated weres not feeling safe here and were helpless. They had no options but to migrate and the Uttar Pradesh government is fully responsible for this," Tyagi said.
Last week, BJP MLA from Kairana Hukum Singh has alleged that 346 families have been forced to flee the town, which has 85 per cent of Muslim population.
An eight-member Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) delegation had also visited Uttar Pradesh to review the situation in controversial Kairana village on Wednesday targeted the Uttar Pradesh government over the deteriorating law and order condition and said that apart the 346 families who have already migrated from the village, many more are willing to do the same.
Hukum Singh, who had earlier reportedly said that the Hindus were being forced to leave their homes in the Muslim-majority town in Kairana, has now backtracked from his claims.
He has said that the "migration" of Hindus from Kairana was "not communal" in nature, adding that people are leaving the region due to law and order problems and threats by goons.
According to reports, the police have ordered a probe into the alleged migration after Singh presented a list of 346 families from the Muslim-majority village while claiming that they had to leave their homes after attacks and extortion attempts.
